We propose the launch of the Akash Developer Program and Community Awards, a new source of funding and support for promising developers and teams. The goal of the program is to grow the developer community, encourage collaboration, and build the tools necessary to make Akash easier and more accessible for the community. Inspired by startup programs AWS Activate and Y Combinator, Akash is offering funding and support for a large number of developers with benefits including technical guidance and marketing. The program culminates in a series of Demo Days, when the chosen developers present their projects to the Akash community. The projects awarded will be featured in blogs and live streams to amplify attention to apps powered by Akash. All developers are encouraged to register for the program and apply for awards. You must have a Github or Gitlab account to be considered a developer. Awards will be announced every month. All awards will be made in AKT tokens. This funding is non-dilutive. We do not take equity in projects with the awards. The program has four tiers of funding in order to support all types of projects large and small. The four award tiers are $100 Activation Award, $1,000 Seed Award, $10,000 Incubator Award, and $100,000 Accelerator Award. The amount of the award is dependent on the project milestones achieved, and the impact demonstrated by previous awards. The purpose of the smallest awards are to support developers running their first app on Akash. The awards must be used to deploy and run applications on Akash. If a developer sends the award to an exchange, they will be ineligible for more awards. Only those developers that have demonstrated a commitment to consistent development will be considered for top tiers of awards. The developer will be asked to share a detailed plan with the community, open source their project for the community, and present their project in a recorded video. A limited number of awards are available at the higher tiers. Milestones for each project will be set as part of the application process. Awards will be made based on milestones that are met. A milestone is a goal such as the development of a feature, the release of a working beta, and the completion of the work. A typical project should be completed within 2-4 months. Projects that complete their milestones will present to the community on a scheduled Demo Day. We are committed to a transparent and clear process. Applications will be reviewed by a Community Awards Board. The board will include at a minimum five members including Akash core team members and community members such as validators, providers, tenants, advisors, or app developers. To nominate someone to participate in the Community Awards Board, please send a message to partners@akash.network. Being a member of this board requires active participation. Each week the board will meet to review the submitted applications and begin accepting submissions, deny funding, or recommend the developer re-apply. For the first phase, we propose 100,000 AKT to be spent from the Community Pool and sent to a wallet controlled by the treasury of Overclock Labs. The community pool is currently over 960,713 AKT. The timeline is immediate, registration will begin in August, awards will be announced every month until funds run out. This program is expected to continue through 2023 if further spend from the community pool is approved by future proposals. The projects to be awarded by the Community Awards Board will be selected based on the impact to the Akash ecosystem and growth of the network. Here are examples of projects that we encourage to submit: Developer tooling for Akash including SDKs and APIs, Open source developer tools e.g. Homebrew, Creator platforms (CMS, Podcasting, Blogging, Forums, GitLab), Decentralized web services e.g. (Handshake DNS, OpenRegistry), Backend as a service / “Hasura on Akash”, Platform as a service / “Heroku on Akash”, Open source communications (Chat, Email), Desktop deployment interface, Hosted deployment interface, Wallets with deployment capabilities, App Store interface / “OpenChannel on Akash”, Storage integrations, Research on developer projects and their impact, Secure VPN Services, Validator operations tools, Mining operations tools. This proposal was written by Colin Lowenberg in collaboration with Overclock Labs and ChandraStation

# Overview As some of you may already know the Akash CAB was formed on July 21st 2021 in order to fund various types of projects to bring value to the overarching Akash community. You can read more about the initial proposal here, [Akash Proposal #9](https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/9). Some of the bigger projects funded by the CAB to date; Akashlytics, Akash-Audit, Project Phoenix etc. The CAB funding has run out but there are still developers proposing projects on the akash forum. # Changes Some changes have been made to the structure of the CAB. The CAB operates as a governing board and goes through a yearly re election process. Some members of the CAB have either resigned or were removed in favor of condensing the group and ensuring that the proper projects are selected. There are no longer Akash Network team members with a vote on the CAB ensuring that there is no conflict of interest. CAB Members: * Tom Beynon * Anthony Rosa * Maxime Beauchamp * Joseph Chalabi * Space Potato * Ethan Kravitz # Funding We are requesting 150,000 $AKT from the community pool in order to fund new project proposals. One of the first projects the CAB plans on funding with the second round is Parachute by Open Registry, a decentralized container registry. More information about the project and proposal can be found on the [Forum Post](https://forum.akash.network/t/openregistry-an-open-container-registry/76). # Wallet After an internal vote, the CAB decided, funds will be sent to the same multi sig wallet held by the Akash team. Why not a multi sig held by CAB members? Funds need to be delivered in a timely manner and a multi sig of 6 members all over the world increases turn around times from voting to funding. # Disclaimer Anthony Rosa, the creator of Project Phoenix & Akash-Audit, will no longer be applying for funding from the CAB in order to avoid any conflict of interest.

#Why A Governance Proposal?/n/nWe have a representative on the Akash Community Awards Board and have submitted funding proposals to the CAB. To avoid a conflict of interest, we pledged to not take money from the CAB (Proposal #16). Therefore we are submitting a governance proposal to let the community directly decide the value of our work. This grant is available in a slightly more detailed manner at https://moultrieauditsgrant.com/, which is running on akash./n/n/#Historical Achievements/n/nThe Akash team has profiled Moultrie Audits' progress at https://akash.network/blog/from-deploying-on-akash-to-auditing-the-network/n/n#What The Grant Funds/n/nBronze and Silver audits will remain free for providers. Bronze and Silver audit reports remain free. Validator Tracker website. Validator auditing program design. poweredbyakash.com updated weekly with new guides on deployment and provider setup. Validator operation (no commission has or will be sold in 2022). Public wallet tracker website for grant reception. Storage, licensing, manpower, and general infrastructure costs. Continued block monitoring and funds recovery. Governance Proposal analytics. Milestones: Month 1: Public wallet tracker website created and shared with community, continuous provider auditing and reports, aforementioned guides created and shared with community, block monitoring continuous, analytics continuous. Month 1-3: Validator tracker website created and shared with community. Month 1 sustainment. Validator audit program design begins. Month 4-6: Validator auditing program submitted to regulators and former validator auditing agencies. Timeline to execution dependent on this stage but will be implmeneted immediately following. We have weekly meetings with an Akash team representative, currently Alani Kuye, and will continue these to monitor our progress and hold us accountable./n/n#What Happens With The Grant/n/n100% of grant will be immediately staked to Moultrie Audits' validator. No amount of original grant will be sold in first three months. A wallet tracker website will be built to display the wallet and any actions that occur for full transparency. The receiving wallet is fresh so as to not obscure activity. No commission generated from the grant will be sold in 2022 (no commission at all will be sold in 2022). The USD amount we are requesting is ~$28,000 at the time of submission.

# Summary Greetings Akash community! As you may have noticed with the current proposals and twitter spaces lately, the Community Awards Board (CAB) is currently going through a transition to the Akash Accelerator. However, some projects, mostly Praetor App, that already got approved for funding in the past couple months haven't received their payments in full for their development efforts. This proposal aims to do just that, by withdrawing some funds from the community pool to the Akash managed CAB wallet and then to be distributed to the respective projects. In this current proposal, the CAB is seeking ~USD100k worth of AKT from the community pool at the current rate (USD0.24$) which is approximately 420,000 AKT. From this USD100k, USD76k will be distributed to Praetor App and to cover other smaller CAB items. Praetor App is a web app and set of tools that streamlines the provider onboarding process on the Akash network. They do a lot of great work! website: https://praetorapp.com/ twitter: https://twitter.com/praetor_app

Hello Akash Community! We are putting this proposal to the vote for funding to our fellow community member Luna. He is an active community member working on the Akash Terraform Provider. The Akash Terraform Provider helps streamline web2 and web3 interoperability by leveraging Terraform's best features for managing infrastructure as code. In addition, it allows users to interact with the Akash ecosystem fast using HashiCorp Configuration Language(HCL) or any of the popular programming languages. This tool is helping Akash integrate seamlessly with Web2 components and introducing Akash to this popular enterprise community. Luna provides a valuable contribution to the growth of Akash Network. So far, this tool has more than 6,000+ downloads. The funds will be used to build new services to support the Akash Terraform Provider and build Terraform modules for applications to run on Akash. It will also integrate with other ecosystem partner applications such as Praetor. In addition, users can write infrastructure as code and allow versioning of infrastructure configuration on Akash. This tool helps onboard a new market share of web2 developers by enabling them to keep using Terraform and reduce the efforts to migrate to Akash, unlocking fast and automatic deployments to avoid repetitive workflows and complex management. With this tool, web2 and web3 infrastructure code can live side by side and seamlessly integrate. Other developers are also welcome to reuse the Terraform modules. This tool is open-source for transparency. Currently, the Akash Community wallet has around 1.29 million AKT. So we are asking to fund 65,000 AKT from that wallet to Luna.

Hello Akash Community! We are putting this proposal to the vote for funding to our fellow community member Luna. He has been actively developing the Akash Terraform Provider as well as developing features for the Akash Network such as TLS Termination and Provider monitoring. He and his team are also leading the Client Libraries effort and part of the SIG Design. He is providing a valuable contribution to the growth of Akash Network. The Akash Terraform Provider keeps growing and integrating with the wider ecosystem with their recently released integration with Praetor. TLS Termination will allow for the usage of valid SSL certificates at the ingress level as well as custom certificates and termination at the Deployment level. The client libraries will expand the possibilities of integrations with the Akash Network by providing a common interface across five popular programming languages. Provider monitoring will allow providers to better make decisions and maintain their providers, providing meaningful insights. Currently, the Akash Community wallet has around 1.46 million AKT. So we are asking to fund 35,000 AKT from that wallet to Luna. This is in parity with the remaining Accelerator Program Fund. - Luna

## Summary We are proposing a funding request of ~50k USD (AKT 165,000 as per AKT to USD price at submitting the proposal) from the community pool for our efforts to enhance user experience and increase Akash network adoption. Please follow github discussion [here](https://github.com/akash-network/community/discussions/92) ## Introduction Providers currently face several challenges that hinder the user experience. These include the lack of content moderation, lease and financial dashboards, and an ideal upgrade path. We propose several solutions to address these challenges to enhance the Akash Network's functionality. We presented to the steering committee on Thursday, Feb 23, 2023. Here is the attached presentation.[Praetor Akash - Steering Committee Presentation - 23 Feb 2023.pdf](https://github.com/akash-network/community/files/10819309/Praetor.Akash.-.Steering.Committee.Presentation.-.23.Feb.2023.pdf) ## Proposed Solutions 1. Management API/ Moderation API for Content Moderation To address the issue of content moderation, we propose implementing a management API and Moderation API in the Akash provider service and Praetor. This will give providers better control over their leases and ensure that only moderated content can be hosted on their provider. This spec is coming from [wg-content-moderation](https://github.com/akash-network/community/tree/main/wg-content-moderation). 2. Lease Dashboard Currently, there is no lease dashboard, making it difficult for providers to manage leases effectively. To address this issue, we propose implementing a lease dashboard that will show all the current and past leases, allowing providers to track their status and provide the best possible service to their leaseholders. Providers can also close leases and choose not to host leases from specific wallets. 3. Financial Dashboard We propose to show a financial dashboard to providers, giving them a comprehensive overview of their finances on the platform. The financial dashboard will also show current and upcoming projections based on leases, historic lease financial data, and more. To extract and process this data, we will use Airflow or integrate with indexers like Cloudmos, ensuring efficient data processing and storage. 4. Upgrade to Helm To provide providers with access to the latest features and upgrades, we propose upgrading the platform to Helm. This will enable existing non-Praetor providers to have Praetor functionalities such as network upgrades, leases, and financial dashboards. This will also enable praetor providers to get insider and vanguard support from the community. 5. Miscellaneous Features We propose adding additional features such as banning image-based leases, adding persistent storage for existing providers using the dashboard, and continuing the EDU program, which will educate the community about the Akash platform. ## Funding Request We request funding of USD 50K in $AKT to implement the proposed solutions. We have a timeline for each solution and will work efficiently to implement them. We tend to finish all of the roadmap in 5 months. #### Roadmap (Timeline) 1. Content Moderation & Lease Dashboard Implement management API in the Akash provider service for content moderation Implement management API in Praetor for content moderation Implement a lease dashboard in Praetor Help providers implement the moderation API in the Akash provider service. 2. Helm Upgrade Install a new provider with Helm. Upgrade existing providers to Helm. Provide Praetor functionalities to existing non-Praetor providers. 3. Financial Dashboard Create a financial dashboard for providers. Show current month and upcoming projections based on leases Show historic lease financial data Process financial data securely using Airflow or integrate with indexers like Cloudmos. 4. Existing Provider Feature Integrate moderation API to allow providers to ban image-based leases Add persistent storage for existing providers using the dashboard Support existing EDU program participants and create new curriculums. #### Conclusion: Implementing these solutions will significantly enhance the Akash Network's functionality and provide a better user experience for our providers. We look forward to your support and cooperation in achieving our goals.

### Akash Hackathon Proposal ## Overview With the launch of the new Akash website, open-sourcing the network and Akash’s new operational framework of SIGs, WGs and the steering committee, the Hackathon working group believes it’s worthwhile hosting a marketing campaign around and how developers can get involved with the Akash ecosystem. We believe the best way to bring attention to what Akash is building at this juncture is hosting the first ever Akash Network hackathon. ## Why Host an Akash Hackathon? Crypto is a loud space. There are hundreds of projects trying to get developers' attention. Looking at well funded projects, such as Ethereum, Aptos, Near, Juno, ect. It becomes plain to see that hackathons are a key driver of developer growth within a given crypto project. A hackathon will allow our marketing efforts to align on a number of important fronts. * Bring attention to Akash and it’s technology * Encourage contributions on Github * Support development new ecosystem partners * Partner and cross promote Akash across the Cosmos ecosystem ## How did we get here? In late January 2023 the community formed a [Hackathon Working group](https://discord.gg/GPRryC88SA) where members of the Overclock Labs team, Akash Insiders and community members developed a [hackathon strategy.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AE0k3QdejTY-s3B7zTZuCP06A5ie8n_yXF_lZGmUKUc/edit) After [meeting with community members,](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kSweMlwuQi1q84mZ52Tw_SDLQ1rJJALn/view?usp=sharing) feedback was included in the initial proposal doc and finalized for this proposal. ## Projected Outcomes Because this is the first Akash Hackathon, it's hard to forecast outcomes. However, given audience size and current tools available on Akash, the below is an estimate on what can be expected from an Akash Hackathon * Host a month long virtual hackathon driving 500 new contributions to the Akash github * Onboard 100 new Akash EDU students * Onboard 10 new Akash Insiders * Onboard 2 newcosystem partners (ex - Cloudmos, Terraform, Praetor) * Drive 100 new deployments on the network * Closer alignment with Cosmos ecosystem through sponsored tracks ## Timeline Below is a timeline of activities in lead up to, during and after the proposed hackathon. Exact dates are yet to be determined until approved through community governance. ### 1 month Preparation * Develop marketing assets * Outreach and partnership with ecosystem players * Develop Hackathon tracks * Develop sponsored tracks * Define hackathon timeline * Define budget * Judge & mentor selection * Judging criteria ### 2 weeks Registration * Prepare final details of hackathon * Encourage signups ### 1 month Execution * Weekly mentor sessions * Dedicated website * Dedicated discord channel * Demo Day (top 3 pitches w/judges) * Review projects and select winners ### 1 month Review * Feedback forms * Announce winners * Post mortem with organizers & sponsors Hackathon Roles ### Support ***Hackathon Lead*** * manages team, hackathon tooling, graphics, timeline, budget, swag, prize distribution, reports, ect. ***Hackathon Community Manager*** * manages hacker events and hacker support ***Hackathon Marketing Manager*** * leads hackathon promotion and partner sponsored tracks ***Additional support*** (not included in roles will be provided by members of the Overclock Labs team) * Judges x4 * Mentors x4 ***Budget*** * Hackathon organizing tool: $3,000 USD Hackathon support roles (paid monthly) * Lead - $4000 USD in AKT (over 3.5 months) * Event Manager - $3000 USD in AKT (over 3.5 months) * Marketing Manager - $3000 USD in AKT * Rewards: 100,000 AKT (split among 3 winners) * Swag: $2,000 USD * Paid Sponsor Tracks (Paid in native token by sponsors + $USD support) Total community pool request in AKT 15,000 USD current prices as of April 2023 .29 USD or 51,724 AKT

# **2023 Akash Events Resourcing Proposal** ## **Summary** Akash Network participation at large (eg - 1000+ attendee) In-person events are an important marketing, engineering, business development, community, investor relations and relationship building tactic. With this being the case we launched a community Events Working Group in late January 2023 with members of the Overclock labs team, Akash Insider's and greater Akash community representatives to debate, discuss and define what events are of significant importance for Akash to have a presence in 2023. ## **TLDR : Proposal Development** 1. Formed [2023 Events Working Group](https://discord.gg/tsYj56j4UV). 2. 2023 Events Proposal drafted. 3. Community Events Proposal meeting [video](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uvPI2-yYk2YmDK9YkfiNw9hFkJCSM5_M/view?usp=sharing). 4. Proposal updated to include community feedback. 5. [Current Proposal](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfPnz3dS61_pomux93RhsyvHshaGHywHl07Cyi_M88s/edit#gid=580542914) live for review. # **Deep Dive : Proposal Development** ### **Event Selection**: As a working group, we selected which events to attend through the filter of three categories. * Cloud events (Including AI) * Crypto events (established crypto events e.g. - been around for more than a few years.) * Cosmos events Once these categories were established we reviewed worksheets listing all events of importance in 2023 [Example](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KtyFTb_W282bQ1xoVA5rlTwTDz3QfhswWIVpXhpbQIc/edit#gid=696686482) and filtered down to community defined important events for Akash. After community review, this left us with **8 total events to attend in 2023**. ### **Budget**: We defined event participation and cost into three categories. - _Tier One events _- These events will include a sponsorship to the main event or a side event and separate Akash owned meetup. \nEstimated Cost: $42,651/event - _Tier Two events_ - These events will not include a sponsorship or an Akash owned meetup. \nEstimated Cost: $23,751/event - _Event overage_ - Overage are events that we don't know about yet, but would potentially need a budget for attending. \nEstimated Cost: $23,751/event ### **How things will get paid**: \nThe budget will be put into a community wallet quarterly that Overclock labs will steward. The wallet information will be public and resources used for events will be reported out quarterly. Members of the Overclock labs team that attend events will expense the cost of event attendance directly to Overclock Labs and Overclock Labs will return resources from the events wallet back to the company. Akash community members that attend events will be given an estimated amount of AKT equal to USD for each event they attend as laid out in the [full proposal document here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfPnz3dS61_pomux93RhsyvHshaGHywHl07Cyi_M88s/edit#gid=580542914). #### **Forecasted Quarterly Breakdown of funding (USD)** - Q1 : $0 - Q2 : $66,402 USD or 228,972 AKT - Q3 : $109,053 or 376,044 AKT - Q4 : $66,402 or 228,972 AKT - Event Overage: $47,502 or 163,800 AKT * TBD on what quarter fund will be needed The total resources allocated from the community pool will be **$289,359 for the year 2023 or 997,790 AKT at current prices. **However, this proposal will not request the entire sum all at once. Instead, resources will be taken out quarterly to ensure maximum accountability and to take into account potential price changes in AKT. #### **Operational notes**: 1. Overclock Labs will custody the requested funds in a new, distinct wallet so that funds from any other source are not commingled. 2. Responsible management of AKT received: the AKT funds received may not be liquidated immediately or not at all if market conditions are weak. If AKT is not sold, funding for events that require fiat or stables can be initially covered by Overclock Labs. If and when market conditions are strong, the right to liquidate these AKT to fund the events is reserved. 3. Overclock Labs will be stewards of the funding and at times cover the upfront costs of event participation in USD. #### **Event Participation**: The final consideration is who from the community will attend these proposed events. This will be decided case by case for each approved event listed in the proposal sheet. These community member selection discussions will happen openly in the WG-Events working group channel in Discord. #### Considerations for Community attendance: * Multilingual (ability to speak with local attendees) * Akash Technical proficiency (speaking opportunities) * Previous event management experience (hosted or volunteered at previous events) * Crypto knowledge (understanding of current industry news/trends) As defined by the proposal, the working group has listed roles for each event Akash attends. Some events may only require 2 or 3 attendees. The number of attendees will be decided on a case by case basis for each event. * Event Manager (manages event logistics and operations) * Speaker (ability to be on panels, give talks or workshops) * Biz/Dev (connects with business leaders at event) * Community support (has one or many talents including, speaking, event management, technical proficiency in Akash) Full definitions of each role can be found in the [event proposal document](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfPnz3dS61_pomux93RhsyvHshaGHywHl07Cyi_M88s/edit#gid=268068160). ### **Additional Notes**: * 2023 Events signaling proposal was approved in [Governance Proposal 187](https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/187). * **Personal note:** While the proposed allocation would be 997,790 AKT split in quarterly allotments from the community pool, from my experience running events for over ten years, I project the total cost for Akash events to be much less than that. Events are not a perfect science and each event will require different needs. But having a budget to work from will allow us to actively participate in community activities we will otherwise miss out on. ### **Voting**: * By voting YES, you agree * Approval for the full funding amount AND * Authorize the community pool to disburse 228,972 AKT ($66,402) for Q2 event funding to a publicly visible wallet. * By voting NO, you disagree that community pool resources should be used for event funding. * By voting ABSTAIN, you express no opinion on the matter. **AKT Wallet Address:** akash1lal8sdqmknk2qchmn8u4f2d2r5u0dm6jhje4u7

# Q3 Akash Events Resourcing Proposal ## Summary Akash Network participation at large (eg - 1000+ attendee) In-person events are an important marketing, engineering, business development, community, investor relations and relationship building tactic. With this being the case we launched a community Events Working Group in late January 2023 with members of the Overclock labs team, Akash Insider's and greater Akash community representatives to debate, discuss and define what events are of significant importance for Akash to have a presence in 2023. The below proposal is based off of that work and specific to Q3 2023 Akash events. ## Deep Dive : Proposal Development ### Event Selection As a working group, we selected which events to attend through the filter of three categories. - Cloud events (Including AI) - Crypto events (established crypto events e.g. - been around for more than a few years.) - Cosmos events Once these categories were established we reviewed worksheets listing all events of importance in 2023 [Example](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KtyFTb_W282bQ1xoVA5rlTwTDz3QfhswWIVpXhpbQIc/edit#gid=696686482) and filtered down to community defined important events for Akash. After community review, this left us with 7 total events to attend in Q3 2023. Budget We defined event participation and cost into three categories.
**Tier One events** - These events will include a sponsorship to the main event or a side event and separate Akash owned meetup. Estimated Cost: $55,378.06/event **Tier Two events** - These events will not include a sponsorship or an Akash owned meetup. Estimated Cost: $30,838.30/event **Event overage** - Overage are events that we don't know about yet, but would potentially need a budget for attending. Estimated Cost: 5% of event ## How things will get paid The budget will be put into a community wallet quarterly that Overclock labs will steward. The wallet information will be public and resources used for events will be reported out quarterly. Members of the Overclock labs team that attend events will expense the cost of event attendance directly to Overclock Labs and Overclock Labs will return resources from the events wallet back to the company. Akash community members that attend events will be given an estimated amount of AKT equal to USD for each event they attend as laid out in the [full proposal document here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfPnz3dS61_pomux93RhsyvHshaGHywHl07Cyi_M88s/edit#gid=580542914) ## Q3 2023 Events Budget The total resources allocated from the community pool will be **$21,650.22 for Q3 or 35,963.82 AKT** based on spot prices ($0.602 as of 26 Jun). This number takes into account the budget not used for Q2 events and the addition of state and federal taxes. **Operational notes**
1. Overclock Labs will custody the requested funds in the events wallet address provided below. 3. Overclock Labs will be stewards of the funding and at times cover the upfront costs of event participation in USD 4. All event spend estimates and actual costs can be reviewed here. ## Event Participation Community participation defined in previous event proposal Full definitions of each role can be found in the [2023 event proposal document](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hfPnz3dS61_pomux93RhsyvHshaGHywHl07Cyi_M88s/edit) ### Additional Notes: - We only spent 25% of our Q2 event proposal budget. As mentioned in our first proposal, we expect to spend less than what is requested. - Previous and upcoming event spend can be viewed here: [Public Budget Tracker](https://lookerstudio.google.com/u/1/reporting/c3273ae3-3749-46fe-8aae-4db6169cedf6/page/BIUND) - After further discussions and analysis we’ve added 29.84% on top of costs to cover Overclock labs tax liability. 21% Federal and 8.84% California - This cover’s tax liabilities for event attendees (e.g. not required to pay taxes on reimbursements) ## Voting: - By voting YES, you agree -- Approval for the full funding amount and -- Authorize the community pool to disburse $21,650.22 USD or 35,963.82 AKT for Q3 event funding to a publicly visible wallet. - By voting NO, you disagree that community pool resources should be used for event funding. - By voting ABSTAIN, you express no opinion on the matter. **Community Support Proposal** **Overview** The Akash community is vast. It spans across geographic regions and social media channels. This is a good thing! The more people who follow Akash activities, the more likely they introduce new community members to the ecosystem. However, with the ever growing size of the Akash community, the ability for community support, engagement and education becomes difficult at scale. This proposal includes three current and future initiatives that are meant to support the Akash Community 1. **Insiders & Vanguards Program** The Akash Insider’s program launched with much fanfare in late 2021. The initial concept of the program was to find community members who have either been actively engaged in Akash related activities or onboard community members who have shown interest in participating in Akash activities. We initially onboarded 10 Insiders. Since then it has grown to 50 across the globe. The Akash Vanguards program launched in mid-2022. Vanguards are the Akash community's most engaged members. It is a small group of highly active and supportive community members. Currently we have 9 Akash Vanguards **Insider Responsibilities** There are no requirements to join the Insiders community. It is completely volunteer based with optional activities. That being said, there is one unwritten rule for joining the program. It is expected that if you apply and join, you will be fairly active in community engagements. Examples but not limited to - Share feedback, highlight issues, join calls, provide community support. **Vanguard Responsibilities** The Akash Vanguards program has requirements to join. However, requirements are incentivized. A full overview of the program can be **[found here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IMOLARSNg5tnIsfQ4B5mfDrmx-MDJNpIFbLxFLuldas/edit)**. **Insider Rewards** Since there are no requirements to join the program, there are no standardized rewards, incentives or a salary for joining the program. However, there are ad hoc activities that are optional to get involved in that can have rewards attached. Ex: Testnet support, blog bounties, Akash feature updates, ect. Insiders will be able to receive rewards from the Community Rewards & Bounties section of funding. **Vanguard Rewards** Since the Vanguard’s program has requirements attached to it, there are rewards given to members. Full details can be found on the **[Vanguards Overview](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IMOLARSNg5tnIsfQ4B5mfDrmx-MDJNpIFbLxFLuldas/edit)**. 2. **Community Rewards & Bounties** This proposal includes a fund specifically for community members that want to contribute to the Akash ecosystem through bounties. Bounties include any effort that contributes to the Akash ecosystem both technical and non technical. Bounties will be decided on through conversations happening in the various SIG and WG calls and discussions on Discord. This also gives an opportunity for Insiders to receive funding for their efforts. Community Rewards & Bounties will be split into 5 subcategories (Community, Website, Console, Bugs, and Miscellaneous) and will be reported on by category to ensure transparency and help continuously evaluate the program. 3. **Community Note Takers** With the launch of the Akash community's open framework for development, there are now numerous ways and opportunities to contribute to Akash. To make contributions easier for the community to get involved with Special Interest groups and Working groups have been formed to encourage contributions. Their groups have regular meetings where the community comes to consensus on how things should get accomplished. Each meeting is recorded for posterity, In addition to recording, notes are taken for those in the community that would like to review. Community members are incentivized to take notes. The budget included in this proposal includes rewards for note takers within the community. **2023 Community Budget ** The full overview of community funds requested to support this program can be **[found here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NMB_-m9GPZEsg0vytgIjDzAPkJJGsiCV7HqixCNT-L4/edit?usp=sharing)**. **2023 (Q3 & Q4) Community Budget TLDR:** Vanguards: $54,000 paid in AKT ($1k per Vanguard per month) Community Rewards & Bounties: $30,000 paid in AKT ($5k per month) SIG & WG Note Takers: $6,500 USD paid in AKT ($50 per note) **Quarterly Breakdown:** Budget will be taken out and proposed quarterly in new governance proposals.. ## Title: Community Funding for Cloudmos Acquisition As covered in our [GitHub discussion](https://github.com/orgs/akash-network/discussions/286), Overclock Labs (OCL) is joining forces with the Cloudmos team to co-develop products with the goal of expanding Akash Network. This collaborative acquisition is the result of months of work between both teams to come to an agreement on terms that further our shared goal of developing great open-source products for Akash Network. Below is a breakdown of the major points covering the 'How' and the 'Why': the big picture. ### Acquisition Cost The total cost of the acquisition is $300,000. OCL will contribute $100,000 to the acquisition to help subsidize the cost so that only $200,000 (of the $300,000 total) is being requested from the Community Pool. ### Benefits to the Akash Community This acquisition will allow us to increase development speed and efficiency, which will result in better products and faster development cycles. All of this will happen through a transparent and open-source process that will ultimately benefit the entire Akash community. 1. Overclock Labs (OCL) and Cloudmos are joining forces to [co-develop open-source deployment tools for Akash Network](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a4iy3t3AkTOobup7cZuL-IGFQrV6qITIwhVNoVBBXXs/edit?pli=1). 2. Cloudmos Deploy will become fully open-source. 3. OCL and Cloudmos will work together closely for a minimum of 6 months to co-develop Akash Console and Cloudmos Deploy. ### Time, effort, and use of funds 1. The community funding reflects the time and effort that the Cloudmos team will have to go through to fully open-source their entire codebase. They will also co-develop their suite of products alongside Overclock Labs for a minimum of 6 months. 2. The funds provided by Overclock are essentially a subsidy to the community pool. Overclock Labs will not retain any private IP from this acquisition. Everything will be open-source. 3. Beyond this acquisition funding, Overclock Labs will be compensating the Cloudmos team for a minimum of 6 months of development work to oversee the transition. ### The Community Pool The Community Pool currently holds approximately 1,722,000 AKT valued at $1,230,000 (as of 13:47 Pacific Time). This proposal calls for a sizeable ask of $200,000 or approximately 343,642 AKT (at the 30 day moving average price of $0.582). This is why Proposal #[211](https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/211) was passed, which increases the community tax from 10% to 25%. This proposal will more aggressively refill the pool and ensure it is well-funded for future network initiatives. At today's token price, the changes made by Prop 211 will add approximately [$3,600,000](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wm2ESNOndQdjASUuDEk4n_iHXnnYX8iqPjwomVzbnGg/edit#gid=0) (or $2,400,000 more than previously) to the community pool over the next 12 months. This collaboration represents a win-win-win scenario for Akash Network's community, Overclock Labs, and Cloudmos. By joining forces, Cloudmos will continue to make it easier and more intuitive to interact with Akash. Together, we will accelerate the development of the world's first operational Supercloud.

# Integration into the Cosmos Snap for Akash ## Summary We are proposing a funding request of ~50k USD (approx. 51,814 AKT as per AKT to USD price at the time of the proposal submission) from the community pool. The Mystic Labs team presented this proposal during the [Akash Network Steering Committee meeting on August 30th, 2023](https://github.com/akash-network/community/tree/main/committee-steering). Please follow the github discussion [here](https://github.com/orgs/akash-network/discussions/247) --- ## Goal This is a project that will give over 30M active monthly Metamask users seamless access to the Akash ecosystem. The Cosmos Snap for MetaMask will also reduce the barriers to entry for collaboration between Akash-native and EVM-native projects. With increased accessibility into both the largest DeFi ecosystem and NFT marketplaces, this will open the door for further dApp exposure and uniquely position Cosmos and Akash alongside Ethereum as driving forces for general adoption in the blockchain industry. This proposal is focused on properly integrating Akash into the Cosmos Snap wallet that will live on the metamask.mysticlabs.xyz domain. --- ## Grant & Uses: **Amount:** ~$50,000 USD worth of AKT tokens sold over time (in correspondence with the Akash team) **Use:** Development of Akash-specific and highly requested features, which include (but are not limited to): ensuring all Akash-native assets are natively supported in the Cosmos Snap, support for in-wallet notifications of chain-related activity, multi-sig support in-wallet, and alternate frontend hosted on an Akash web server. Also, any funds left over from development funding will be set aside for payment of the web server over time to ensure its longevity. ## Deliverable for Akash: This project aims to integrate into the Cosmos Snap for Akash, thereby enabling MetaMask users to access the Akash Marketplace. This will facilitate the buying and selling of decentralized cloud computing infrastructure for Ethereum-based users. Additionally, it will increase user exposure to testing advanced AI models once the Akash AI rollout is completed. In-wallet notifications will significantly improve the user experience for those using the Cosmos Snap. These notifications include low balance warnings, instance renewals, and more, which are crucial for Akash users. An alternate wallet UI, hosted on Akash and featuring a "Powered by Akash" banner, will further showcase Akash's capabilities. Multi-sig support adds another layer of utility, benefiting not just Akash users but the entire Cosmos ecosystem due to the current lack of a well-established, Cosmos-native multi-sig option. --- ## Milestones/Proposed Payment Schedule >**40% of ask** > >- paid upfront for initial development costs > >**Remaining funds (60%) disbursed as follows:** >- 20% paid upon successful integration of notification support >- 20% paid upon deployment of the alternate UI on an Akash web server >- 20% paid upon completion of in-wallet multi-sig support --- ## Benefits of This Proposal for Akash 1. Direct connection to the 30M+ monthly active MetaMask users 2. In-wallet notification support for essential functions 3. Multi-sig support directly in-wallet 4. An alternate wallet UI hosted on an Akash-based server 5. Access to Akash's decentralized cloud-computing for Ethereum-based users 6. Enhance Akash chain security through staking AKT tokens from a larger user base 7. Potential increase in Akash Marketplace sales volume 8. Further strengthen the link between Akash, Cosmos, and Ethereum --- ## More Information For more details about Mystic Labs, visit [Mystic Labs Website](https://www.mysticlabs.xyz/). ## Governance Proposal We’re proposing (and seeking community funds for) training a foundation AI model on Akash Network, resulting in an “Akash'' named open source AI model, archived/ shared on Huggingface. The full details can be found in the original Github discussion thread [here](https://github.com/orgs/akash-network/discussions/300). * Benefits to the Akash community include: * Demonstrating that AI model training can be conducted on Akash’s decentralized cloud platform. * Attracting AI and ML developers (web3 and web2) to the platform. * Positioning GPU providers for success, following the mainnet launch (by generating demand). * Rounding out AI use cases, by adding model training (Inference and fine tuning have already been demonstrated in the testnet). * Strengthening Akash Networks’ open source commitment by building and contributing an open source AI model to the broader OSS community. * This is a funding proposal asking for $48,000, which is 54,055 AKT (at the 30 day moving average price as of October 5, 2023 of 0.88798). Since the duration of the incentives in this initial experiment is long (3-6 months), using an average price mitigates some of the volatility. * Any unspent funds at the end of the experiment will be returned to the community pool OR used towards future tenant/provider incentives ONLY. In the event of a shortfall, OCL will cover the difference to avoid tapping into the community pool again. The wallet that holds the funds, will be akash1ajwyre772xyu8m94j7prtvz57w020aqnpf62lx.
